The Adoption Process

After submitting an application, you'll be contacted within a few days wherein you'll speak to a representative of our organization about your request. From here, you'll be able to schedule a visit to our kennels to have one-on-one time with all of the dogs available for adoption.

If you make a friend after visiting our kennels and want to go through with the adoption, a home-visit will be scheduled to ensure your home is a safe environment for a greyhound. If you're still unsure though if a greyhound is right for you, then never fear! You can visit our kennel as many times as you'd like just to be sure that you're comfortable with your decision. There's no commitment involved with a kennel visit!

Is A Greyhound Right For Me?

Greyhounds are extremely gentle and loving animals, but they are big dogs and require commitment. Greyhounds cannot be left home alone for more than eight hours a day and require daily walking if you do not have a fenced in yard. Because of their size, they need a lot of space to be themselves, therefore apartments or homes where they'd be confined to one room aren't very good environments.

We recommend that all new applicants, or even those simply thinking about applying for a new Greyhound, read the Greyhound Gang's Guide to Your New Greyhound. It's a "greyt" resource for new and upcoming Greyhound owners!
